Motor Sport How to care for “Awnings”

Awnings

Continuing with our Race Car transporter care series, this time we will be looking at how to care for your Awnings
A Lehel Race car transporter has a very high specification.
Lehel have put a lot of thought into the Motor Sport transporter vehicle. Such thought lead to practical solutions bursting at the seams with functionality, the Lehel awning being one such practicality. This awning or marquee provides an excellent solution to that extra space required at events for your team to converse over the days achievement or a overnight secure storage area to park up your vehicles. Whatever use you get from your Lehel awning or marquee temporary cover system you must makes sure you take good care of it. By following our specially put together care section below you can ensure you will get the most from your Lehel.

Your awning should only be put out in fine weather, not in wind or rain. Awnings can be kept in great condition and costly repairs prevented if these steps are followed:

• If it looks like rain, drop one corner for water to drain off. Prevent water from pooling on fabric. If there is heavy rain or high winds roll up and lock awning. Leaving awning down in these conditions may cause damage to the awning and the truck.
• Keep clean and like in our paint work care section do not use any abrasive cleaning products .
• Clean hardware items once a year to make sure they are tight, clean and lubricated. Inspect bolts and screws for tightness.
• For vinyl fabric, clean with mild soap and water or 1/4 cup of bleach to 5 gallons of water for heavy soil and stains.
• For acrylic fabric, spray often with water – dry completely before storing. Apply a water repellent once a year.
• Be sure fabric is dry before rolling up awning.
• Vinyl fabrics may develop pinholes and can be easily repaired with a vinyl liquid patch and a cotton swab.

Awning must be closed and locked during travel, or when you will be away for an extended period of time
